we have a problem with our 3 wireless lan controller (4400) running software version 5.0.148.0 (same mobility and config group but at the moment one controller is configured with different wireless lans partially).
Last Tuesday there was a problem with connecting to 2 wireless lans (on the 2 identical controllers). One wireless lan with web authentication, the other one without web auth. (has MAC Filter). So you got a connection but there were no internet connection. The login-page appears, but didn't accept any access data.
So we restarted both controllers (before we said “Save config to flash†in the Wireless Control System).
The effect was that after the restart all of the MAC filters were lost, the admin accounts of the controllers too (we could create a new one with WCS). And all the guest user accounts were not allocated to any controller, so they didn't work.
After we corrected the configs all was working fine.
TODAY there was the same problem with our third controller. I could connect to a wireless lan with web authentication but the login page does not appear. Another wireless lan (with MAC Filter) was working.
So I restarted the controller and… the controller lost all the MAC filters, the local management users and the allocation of the guest user accounts to a controller.
We can't find any helpful entry in the syslog file. We don't know what the problem is and we are afraid that this phenomenon occurs again.
Does anybody knows something about that?
Is there a bug? The controllers are running since about one year without problems.
