Factory Default Cisco 2500/W Series Camera

Hello all.  I have a Cisco 2500/W Series that I once could access via https:// but now cannot due to a setting a video setting I changed on the camera.  However, I can access the camera via ssh and using the root username/password.  Is it possible to reset the camera to factory defaults while in the ssh session?

I'm not 100% sure.  You can

I'm not 100% sure.  You can always reset the camera by physically holding the reset button for at least 10 seconds... but something tells me physical access to this camera is tricky for you.

I'll see what I can find myself ;-)

Well, I've traced a 'Factory Defaults' button back to the point of performing a post against

/usr/local/www/adm/file.cgi with the value pair 'cf.todo.value = "reset"'...

... but I'm personally not sure how to invoke this successfully via busybox.

wget is available, but doesn't appear to support --post-data.

Another alternative I'm guessing at is:

/etc/init.d/rcS.reset

... but I'm not sure in the slightest.  Your mileage may vary.  I'd recommend you open a TAC case and/or gain physical access to the device.

Wish I had more time to poke at it.

Cheers!

Thanks.  Its about a three

Thanks.  Its about a three mile drive to physically access the camera.  I should stop being lazy.  Anyway, just wondering if it was possible.

If you were adventurous and

If you were adventurous and have decided you may need to physically visit the camera to perform a reset, you could always _try_ the /etc/init.d/rcS.reset script... and see if it does perform the equivalent of a reset? Again, I can't attest to how safe it would be in any certainty though...

If I had the time here, I'd check it out for you.

Best of luck either way!  Cheers!
