VSM 7.x - Pausing A Rotating Pane

Here's an issue that's stumped me since migrating to VSM 7.x. When we were on 6.3.2, we could configure a view with multiple rotating panes. When displaying these views, if we needed to focus in on a camera, we could select a camera and have it pause rotation for that pane. This is essential for us because if our police department notices an "event" in progress, they could quickly focus on that "event". It saves a lot of hassle trying to load a blank view, find the camera in question, and then load that camera to the view..... and all in time to not miss the event as it is occuring.

It seems that in 7.x we have lost that functionality, or at least how you pause the pane has changed and I haven't figured the new way out. Granted, this is a new app, going from the Virtual Matrix to SASD, but you would hope this would serve to gain functionality instead of lose it. I'm hoping that I'm just blind and haven't found the new way of doing this. I've personally tested this in 7.0.1, 7.2.0, 7.2.1, and 7.5.0 with the same results.

To Cisco: If this was functionality that has been deprecated, what can we do about getting this back? Our police officers need this to perform their jobs and have been fussing at me ever since going to the 7.x code.

I wish I had some good news

I wish I had some good news for you here, Jonathan.  Unfortunately, I don't recall seeing anything specifically related to pausing a rotation view when it gains focus.  I fear it may simply be a subtle architecture difference that happened with the 7.X rewrite.

I haven't experienced the behavior firsthand (different use cases), but I'll keep it in mind the next time I'm mucking about in VSM7, and I'll have a good poke at it.  I'll see if I come up with anything constructive to share.

All the best,
