Hi.
Would like to enable motion detection on my cameras (all are capable, a.e. CIVS-3520).
But after defining the motion areas (and exclude), the button below "save motion config" is greyed out.
I have enabled them in the camera settings screen (and via bulk).
Any idea?
Thanks for your hint.

Hmmm... What version (VSM and cam FW?).
Do they all adhere to a single common camera template that defines video motion? I haven't tried ... customizing the detection/exclude windows for a camera that's part of a larger template myself... just stuck with the generic 'full window'.
Have you tried marking one of the camera as unique (set template), and *then* adjusting it's VMD properties? Are you able to save it then?
It *may* be you can't modify/customize VMD window configs unless the camera is unique? :-S
Let me know!
Cheers,
Scott.

Hi Scott.
Thanks very much for your ideas. Your infos here in this forum are always very helpful.
I have a specific template for that type of camera with "recording on motion and continous" set.
Let me try a generic one that came with the base installation.
Can you give me quick hint where to find the "unique" feature?
Regards
Danny

Sure thing!
It's under the 'Set Template' dialogue, but it's not too obvious...
This should let you configure a unique, custom endpoint. See if it makes a difference on the configuration.
More info is also in section 9-5 of the Cisco VSM Operations Manager User Guide.
Cheers!

Hi.
Thanks for the hint with the custom template (I still have to upgrade my mind from the v6 world...).
Done this. But still, there is no change. Those buttons are still greyed out.
Checked on the camera itself, the motion config seems to arrive there, but VSOM does not update. I will completete delete the camera again and retry.

Scott.
I have now tested with different browsers. Sometimes this could be an issue.
But also, I found out, that under System Settings/Firmware Management the whole left search windows is greyed out as well. Since I did some bulk firmware upgrades in V7.2, and it worked, I have to assume that something went wrong with the 7.51 version.
Gut the whole VSOM works fine, that's why I have not noticed.

I have now found the issue, thanks to a hint....
My system got updated (without really noticing it) and got IE 11.
These buttons are Active-X and even when almost everythig else works fine, exactly those functions are not working in IE11.
Downgraded to IE9 and everything fine again.
I am pretty sure, somebody else will have likely the same issue one day.
Cheers

Glad you found it... I was away on vacation and I'm just getting back into ancillary (online forums) tasks now...
Cheers!

Scott.
I got a little hint from Cisco to check my IE version. :-)
Looks like my IE was updated after my holidays and with IE 11, those buttons are greyed out. Active-X again. Downgraded to the dark ages of Internet versions again and back they are.
Hope this is helpful for others as well.
Cheers

Hi dannymcon,
this was the right hint for me after trying some time and did not get a track.
In IE11 I pressed F12 and set the browser to play as IE9 - this does it.
Nb: the IE and ActiveX Issues are very annoying, I hope in the (near or wider) future there is a change to open format/browser.
Cheers, stefan
