Cisco Prime 9.5 - Failed to generated assurance backup

Hi,

I am try run the backup about the Cisco Prime and it is presenting failed. Any have idea about this?

Hi Wilson,

Seems to be a bug.Do you get some logs here .

I was just checking few bugs but does not exactly match your issue.

Backup schedule - date handling issues

Symptom:
There are issues with handling dates in Backup schedule for Prime Assurance. Symptoms can include:
- Scheduling the the backup a few years ahead instead of the configured time.
- Not saving entries when date modifications have been done.

Conditions:
Issues may occur in Internet Explorer 9/8 and some versions of Firefox (eg: 21)

Workaround:
Use other supported browser.

PCA Backup requires SSH access for SFTP causing failures

CSCum88682

Symptom:
When trying to generate a backup from Prime Collaboration Assurance and store it to a secure SFTP server which is blocking SSH, the backup job will fail

Conditions:
Attempt to use a secure SFTP server blocking SSH.

Workaround:
Fix is available in Service Pack 1

Just a guess, if you can changing the browser?

Hi Wilson,

Can u share the snapshot of error message which appears ?

HAve u followed the below steps  while taking backup:

a. Login CPA with admin through putty using port 26

b. Create a Repository where the backup would be stored. You can keep name as BACKUP

c. then, u need to enter url sftp://IP address of machine where sftp is running/

d. user test password hash test .Same credentials need to be configured in sftp software.

e. backup backupfilename[PRIME]  repository BACKUP application cpcm

the backup filename would be created  as PRIME-YEARMONTHDATE-TIME.tar.gpg

I have taken backup using freeftpd software.

Thanks a lot for your contact and I am sorry by late in the answer. I am not network administrator and  I am verify with my co-worker if created this way. I stopped and started the provision session, but, It still in progress.

I spoken my co-worker and He told me that the backup model used is Web not CLI. We used the restart service cpcm, but, didn´t worked.

We deleted the connection and created again, but, the error message changed. Now the message stay "In Progress" and not change status

I think GUI option got introduced in Prime Assurance 9.5

from CLI can u check status

admin# show backup history.

You can also try taking backup from CLI

the above commands remain same and

admin# backup cmbackup repository BACKUP application cpcm

The Customer is using the 9.5 version. Yesterday I and my co-worker verified  that the backup by CLI is worked, but, in nothing moment worked in GUI interface.

Hi Aman,

I am doing the tests. The first test that I did was changed the browser. I tried to do the test with my Google Chrome 33.0.1750.117 and when I tried to do the test appear the message error:

There was an error while parsing and rendering the content. (Object #has no method 'getAttribute')

Error code WAP00008.

I am trying to do another test. I will inform to You by results.

The problem was solved. We changed the mode SFTP to FTP and the interface GUI worked.

How did ftp option clicked you? Did u open the TAC case?

We didn´t open TAC case. The configuration was did in Web Page.

Administration > Backup Management > Backup Connection > FTP ou SFTP

De configuration about SFTP was deleted and created new with FTP
