Has anyone done the upgrade or migration from 11.6 to 12.1 of Prime Collaboration Assurance Analytics.
The documents all say you need to migrate but the many documents are unclear. Do you need to create a new machine on 12.1 then do the DMA restore and or restore the normal backup as well. Any help or tips would be appreciated.

Hi there
Yes, DMA assists in migrating Cisco PCA data from 11.6 to 12. The reason for migration is due to the change in the underline operating system of Cisco Prime Collaboration Assurance.
Steps
Data Migration Assistant Restore - Use Perform Data Migration Assistant Restore to restore the backup data on 12.x server.
Detailed Upgrade Guide
Note - You cannot restore the purchased license of Cisco Prime Collaboration Assurance 11.x to 12.1. You must purchase the license with the same endpoint count for Cisco Prime Collaboration Assurance 12.1. Once the DMA migration is completed successfully, the Cisco Prime Collaboration Assurance 12.1 server will be in Evaluation mode.
Hope this helps!
Cheers
Rath!

Great answer Rath. Quick comment about license. If you have SWSS the replacement 12.1 license can be obtained from PUT. Once you have this license, it will be good for all future 12.x upgrades.
