I am trying to check interface receive/send counters using snmp. my polling interval is once per second (just couple of ports) since I suspect my network traffic has quite a lot of microbursts which are not detectable by my other network monitoring applications.
Everything is good, except that I just found out that my 6500 switches update these counters only once every 5 seconds even on TenGi ports
where I am seing link utilization above 30%. On the other hand, I have found that some other cisco devices update more often; some of them
actually update their counters every second.
how can I make 6500, or any other cisco device, update ifHCOut/InOctets update more frequently? every second would be awesome.
