Re: 2611 Terminal Server

Hi,

make sure you 'no exec' configuredunder the lines, in order to prevent data coming back from the console starting an exec process, which can use CPU resources:

line 1

no exec

Re: 2611 Terminal Server

I had that command on all of my lines except for two, so I added it and my cpu is still high. I show 11-Exec and 18 - Virtual Exec, is this the number of connections?

Re: 2611 Terminal Server

Hi,

please post the output of show version, a lot of times, these symptoms are caused by a bug. I'll do a bug search.

I added the show version to the existing note pad doc.

Re: 2611 Terminal Server

Hi,

I ran a check, but no specific bugs apply. By the way you have a 2511, not a 2611 router. The device is rather ancient and has only 4MB of DRAM and 4MB of Flash. Most likely, an IOS upgrade will remedy the problem. If you want to upgrade your IOS, you would require something like 6MB of DRAM and 8MB of Flash (for e.g. 12.0). Is there a chance to get the memory upgraded ?

Re: 2611 Terminal Server

What if I take some of the connection off of this router, will that bring some of the CPU cycles?

Thanks,
