2811 - PSTN - Multiple Incomming Users

Hello

We have just purchased the following.

CISCO2811

2811 W/ AC PWR 2FE 4HWICS MS 1NME 2AIMS IP BASE 64

VWIC-1MFT-E1=

MULTIFLEX TRUNK 26XX/36XX TR

What I need this to do is be setup as a PRI so that multiple customers can communicate with us over ISDN to a FTP server behind this router.

The card is installed in slot 0/0 but nothing is showing up in the config. I have done a few BRI setups before and you always have an interface. I have entered the command

interface E1 0/0

And that adds an interface, but "show interface" does not show any signs of life. My other concern currently is that "debug isdn" does not show up at all. I had hoped that I would slot the card in and the interface would be there, so I am hoping this setup is correct for what I need.

Any help would be great.

There won't be an interface until you setup the controller. Do a "sh controllers t1" and it will show you the spot where your t1 controller is. You'll then need to setup the linecode and framing on the T1, followed by a no shut and a "pri-group timeslots 1 - 24" to get the serial interface that you are looking for.

Re: 2811 - PSTN - Multiple Incomming Users

Thanks for the reply Steve, this is a PRI so I assume the controller is E1 (correct me if I am wrong). show controllers E1 0/0/0 shows...

E1 0/0/0 is up.

Applique type is Channelized E1 - balanced

No alarms detected.

alarm-trigger is not set

Version info Firmware: 20050620, FPGA: 16, spm_count = 0

Framing is CRC4, Line Code is HDB3, Clock Source is Line.

CRC Threshold is 320. Reported from firmware is 320.

Data in current interval (421 seconds elapsed):

0 Line Code Violations, 0 Path Code Violations

0 Slip Secs, 0 Fr Loss Secs, 0 Line Err Secs, 0 Degraded Mins

0 Errored Secs, 0 Bursty Err Secs, 0 Severely Err Secs, 0 Unavail Secs

Total Data (last 24 hours)

0 Line Code Violations, 0 Path Code Violations,

0 Slip Secs, 0 Fr Loss Secs, 0 Line Err Secs, 0 Degraded Mins,

0 Errored Secs, 0 Bursty Err Secs, 0 Severely Err Secs, 0 Unavail Secs

I then entered

Cisco-2811-PSTN(config-controller)#linecode HDB3

Cisco-2811-PSTN(config-controller)#framing crc4

Cisco-2811-PSTN(config-controller)#pri-group timeslots 1-24

%Please configure network-clock-participate wic 0 first

%Insufficient resources to create pri-group - it has been removed

So I get this error when entering the pro-group command....
