7204 router

Hi all,

We are using a 7204 router for remote access DSL and cable modems. At any moment, more then 300 users are online.

It happens that a user that is already loged in, tries to log in again.

I do not want this to happen.

Can I block or forbid his second connection while he is loged in ?

Thanx, Tuvia

Hi Tuvia,

how are your users authenticated (e.g. RADIUS, TACACS, local authentication) ?

Hi

My users are authenticated by RADIUS after the login on the 7204.

Can I check on 7204 before the RADIUS ?

Thank you, Tuvia

Hello Tuvia,

try the command:

pppoe limit per-mac

This command is used to specify the maximum number of PPPoE sessions to be sourced from a MAC address. If you set this to 1, only one session can be sourced from each MAC address. The command needs to be configured under the VPDN group:

vpdn-group 1

accept dialin

protocol pppoe

virtual-template 1

-->pppoe limit per-mac 1

Regards,

Nethelper

Thank you very much.

I'll try this and let you know.

Two more questions: our cable users are using PPPTP on the same 7204. Can I use those commands for L2TP and PPPTP ?

The user is tring to login from an other place, other

computer, other mac-address. Do you think it helps ?

Thanx, Tuvia
