Did your friend also give you some antennas with the AP?

That model does not ship with antennas, because it can be used in so many different roles.

Did you get / do you have the standard Cisco console cable? If you know the IP address, you can do the configuration using a Web Browser.

Let us know

Scott

Hello and thank's for your replay.

My friend give it to me the AIR-AP1242-E-K9(v02) with to antenas in 2.4ghz port.

I purchase and i will waiting in next week the

AIR-CONCAB1200!

I beleave is the only away to access in to my ap.

I do not have after the resset any wirelles singal in to my pc!

The ap only show one green relaxing light!

What is the ip to go in to my ap ?

When i put my ap in to my ethernet pc port i can do any change's???

Thank's

Please someone answer...

I dont know what i must do..

Litle support please or tell me where i can ask to help me.

Thanks..

IF the AP is at default configuration, it should have an address of 10.0.0.1 255.0.0.0.

Connect the AP to a PC using an Ethernet cross-over cable. GIve the PC an address is 10.0.0.2 and a mask of 255.0.0.0.

Use your Web browser; point it to the AP using address 10.0.0.1

If the AP is set for defaults, you should get the web GUI.

Good Luck

Scott

Thank's for your reply ScottMac..

Ok i did everything you say but stell nothing :(

When i conect my ap in to my pc using the ethernet port and one cross type ethernet cable i take the

ip:169.254.211.152

and

mask:255.255.0.0

when i put the ip in the web browser nothing happend.

So i change the ip to: 10.0.0.1 or 10.0.0.2

mask:255.0.0.0

I put in my browser 10.0.0.1 or 10.0.0.2 and nothing.. :(

So what can i do to access in to my ap???

Please give me a solution..

Thanks

Ok i feal so stupid...

I search everyware but nothing 5 christmas days now i try everything... :(

Please someone to know tell me what is the problem...

Look i found that:

Changes to the Default Configuration?Radios Disabled and No Default SSID

In this release, the radio or radios are disabled by default, and there is no default SSID. You must create an SSID and enable the radio or radios before the access point will allow wireless associations from other devices. These changes to the default configuration improve the security of newly installed access points.

Here:

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/wireless/access_point/1130/release/notes/b11jarnh.html#wp118648

And the question is how can i create an SSID and enable the radio without the web interface??

No one can help me???

So what can i do now??

Where can i find litle support in to my big problem???

Please

Thanks any away... :)

At this point, we must wait until you have your console cable.

The AP may not be running it's software (corrupt or missing), or it is still configured for other parameters.

Let us know when you have a Cisco console cable, and you are able to get a prompt, any prompt.

Without details, it is very difficult. Without a console cable, it is nearly impossible to get details.

Good Luck

Scott

Thank's again ScottMac

I'm awating the blue cisco cable!

Thank's again.

if AP is set to factory default, I guess default IP configured for BVI interface will be 10.0.0.1. you can set IP to your PC NIC as 10.0.0.2 and connect it to AP. make sure you are able to ping AP IP from PC.

you can access AP GUI interface (http:// or can telnet to the IP. "cisco" is the default enable password on AP.

rate if it helps ....

I'm able to ping ap ip from pc..

But i can go to the settings.

Even with hyperterminal or telnet or webinterface..

Maybe i must awit for the blue cisco cable.

you mean to say that you are able to ping AP from PC. So, you should be able to connect to AP either through GUI or telnet. are you getting any error while trying to access AP from GUI or telnet.

hope i understood your problem correctly ... correct me if i am wrong.
