Hello everybody,
i got a HWIC-8A/S-232 interface inserted in a ISR3845. On the according interfaces i got following configurations:
interface Serial0/0/0
physical-layer async
ip unnumbered Loopback0
encapsulation ppp
async mode interactive
peer default ip address pool default
ppp authentication chap
!
line 0/0/0
modem InOut
transport input all
flowcontrol softwar
Situation:
I get access to the router even the interface state of s0/0/0 is down/down.
Question:
How can i get access if the interface where the server is connected is in state down/down ?
Thanks for your help
regards
stephan

Are you sure there is no other path available?
If so, please post the output from "deb ppp neg" that contains the routers' output when a connection with the server is established and disconnected.

I'm sure there can't be another path available because there is no other connection between the server and the ISR.
I'll attache the debug output as soon as i get remote access to the system.
