Deactive ISDN during non-biz hour

Dear All,

Is that possible that we deactive ISDN during non-business hour and active ISDN again during customer business hour by using ACL?

Thanks a lot!

Re: Deactive ISDN during non-biz hour

yes, it is very much possible to do that and in fact ISDN is refered to dial on demand routing technology which means that you use the line only when you need it and disconnect the line when you don't need it.

you can achieve this using ACL to define interesting traffic which should trigger ISDN call and can configure idle timeout to tell how long ISDN should wait for an intereting traffic to arrive at its interface before disconnecting the line.

check this URL for basic ISDN configuration.

hope it helps ... rate if it does ...

Hi,

Yes, you need a time-based ACL to accomplish this. The following Cisco document shows how to activate an ISDN line by time-of-day:
