dial-up to router AUX port need help

Hi guys/gals,

Im setting up a dial-up to router aux port

I just bought a DLINK-562E External Modem with Serial Output, I tried to connect to the DB9 cisco console cable but cant seem to make it work,

I got the config for my aux,

line aux 0

modem DialIn

modem autodiscovery

flowcontrol hardware

speed 9600

stopbits 1

For the DLINK, it uses a Conexant S56D chipset, I used the normal AT commands set by cisco website like AT&S0=2 etc.

Is there a cable difference for this? The link interface is an RS232C interface.

Appreciate your help

Re: dial-up to router AUX port need help

Please check below link for the info. :

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/tech/tk801/tk36/technologies_tech_note09186a0080094bbc.shtml

Please follwe the sample and test again by telnet the AUX w/ 2000+line no.

e.g. if "show line" show the line no. is 65. then telnet the port at the router w/ "telnet x.x.x.x 2065".

However, you have to use a PC to connect to the modem to confirm it works then connect to the rouer. You have to use the connector that marked w/ "MODEM" to connect to the modem instead of using the "CONSOLE" connector.

Hope this helps.
