Extreme slowness using Anyconnect over traditional VPN client

I have SSL VPN setup on an 5520 and I can connect (using AnyConnect 2.3) , transfer files, RDP...etc but even though everything is working it is very slow - 535ms to be exact.

If I connect to the same ASA over the same Internet connection using the traditional VPN client I am getting 24ms.

Any ideas?

are you connecting using DTLS as the transport ? Check the stats while connected. DTLS is supposingly much faster then standard SSL.
