Fialed and Unstable ISDN Backup links

Hi people.

I test, log and service all the isdn back up links of a couple of hundred routers. Every morning after the test has been run, they are always isdn failures. After upgrades, and constant monitoring and troubleshooting there are still "failed tests".

Any idea why?

Could it be the test itself? Its an automated script...

Thanx in advanced.

Re: Fialed and Unstable ISDN Backup links

This could be your script. Is it possible that lines are busy while testing? This could be either the remote locations or the central site. When you are utilizing a single isdn30 to test several hundred locations, there might be a capacity issue on the central site as well.

It is always a good idea to spread out such a test over a longer period of time, for example by testing the lines one after another.

Re: Fialed and Unstable ISDN Backup links

What will the issue be if one's script runs while a the isdn link is up? And if capacity isnt an issue?

So instead of running one script at a particular time at night testing all the isdn links at once, have more scipts spread out. Theoretically, even that shouldnt be a problem...

The isdn links are failing way to much when tested.
