Hi all

Can anyone confirm that when connecting isdn, the other ends, dialler or BRI interface has to be in the same subnet ?

Hi there,

For your ISDN to connect you don't need the ip's to match. HOWEVER!! If you want them to talk to eachother, then they DO need to be on the same subnet.

Hello,

in addition to the other post, there is a special case where both interfaces do not need to be on the same subnet, yet still can talk to each other. This setup uses IP unnumbered addressing for the BRI (or Dialer) interfaces. Check the following link for a sample configuration:

Hey ,

All connenxns come up @ Layer 1 and layer 2 . It may be possible to have layer3 not up and rest working ..see the output no active calls made but isdn up
