ISP Down

Hi,

I have an ISP. I want to make a policy for dialup users, when Internet link goes down our DNS servers can responce to users. I have AS5300 with IOS Version 12.2(16a) and one 3550 (IOS Version 12.1(14)EA1a) that it is distribution for Access Servers. I need a DNS that is response 1 IP or many IP for all DNS requests. Then I can route it to a web server for showing an alert page for down time.

Regards

Farhad

Re: ISP Down

Farhad jan,

I think you can find a workaround by implement a squid (proxy server) or somthing like that on any platform, in your network instead of the special DNS daemon and webserver.

you can use wccp between squid and as5300 and write a script to enable wccp when your backbone goes down so proxy server will be able to explain a desire page on users web client for all http requests.

Kind Regards,
