Microsoft RRAS server behind Cisco 871 router

I have a Microsoft RRAS server behind a Cisco 871 router. How do I enable external clients to connect to this server? I have tried to create a NAT allowing PPTP but client connections fail because they hang on verifying username and password. I think I need to pass GRE traffic but I don't know how. I need to use the SDM tool to configure this option. Please advise.

You need to configure your access-list to allow the following:-

PPTP - TCP 1723

GRE - Protocol 47

so your acl will look something like:-

access-list 101 permit tcp any host <> eq 1723

access-list 101 permit gre any host <>

Thanks for the response. I am not familiar with CLI programming. Can you elaborate on the process? I am using SDM to configure this can you provide the steps? Thanks!

I do not use the SDM - I find such GUI configuration tools very limiting, you have more options for configuration from the command line.

If you can log into the device and enter into "enable mode" type the following command at the prompt - and post the output:-

show run | begin access-list

Only post the access-list config.
