Modem on Aux port on 2801 not prompting for login

Hi,

I have a US Robotics model 5686E connected to the AUX port on a 2801 router. I can connect to the modem, but I don't get prompted for login. I can never get to the router prompt. Here's my AUX config:

line aux 0

modem InOut

modem autoconfigure type usrmodem

autocommand menu peach1

transport input all

autoselect ppp

stopbits 1

speed 2400

flowcontrol hardware

The "modem autoconfigure" line references this line in the config:

modemcap entry usrmodem:MSC=&FS0=1&C1&D3&H1&R2&B1

Here's my authentication setup:

aaa new-model

!

!

aaa authentication login default group tacacs+ local

aaa authentication ppp default group tacacs+ local

aaa accounting exec default start-stop group tacacs+

aaa accounting commands 15 default start-stop group tacacs+

aaa accounting connection default start-stop group tacacs+

aaa accounting system default start-stop group tacacs+

!

aaa session-id common

!

I've tried different speeds with the modem and several other minor tweaks with no success. I know I'm connecting to the modem because I can see it connect and I can pass keystrokes, but I can't get to the router prompt. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

can you try disabling the AAA?

Also make sure the jumper settings are proper in the modem.
