Moving D channel to channel 0 when configuring NFAS

A colleague of mine (honestly :) is configuring a router with 5 T1 PRI's. The provider is working with him to configure NFAS so he can utilize the remaining D channels on the other T1's for B channel functions.

The problem he is running into, is that the Carrier setup the signaling on DS0 of the first T1.

Is there a way to change the signalling channel to not use channel 24?

He's already read this site:

Thanks,

No way, actually he should also ask to have a backup of the D channel on another circuit.

In any case if he still in time to rethink about the whole issue he should consider regular pri instead as a gain of 3 channels over 115 is not worth the added complexity in most cases.
