I am using a Genetec Omnicast server to stream video to the internet, through a DSL line. Since I put Cisco 831 routers between each end points, video sessions do freeze regularly (before I used linksys routers). I do not see any latency, queuing or else. The internet link is only used for video.
you could try and configure a QoS policy at both ends that prioritizes the video streaming traffic. The configuration could look like this:
match access-group 101
access-list 101 permit ip any any dscp cs1
access-list 101 permit ip any any dscp af13
interface atm 1/0.1 point
service-policy output QoS-Policy
This configuration would guarantee 500kbps of bandwidth for video streaming traffic. The DSCP values are based on Cisco standards for streaming video traffic. I would give it a try and see if it makes a difference.
What model of Linksys routers were you using before ?
