Hello,
I am trying to figure out how to get my router to initiate a PPPoE connection to my ADSL modem which was provided by my ISP.
RouterE0/1-->modem-->internet
For some reason it doesnt connect.
I get this (with debug ppp auth and dialer on):
00:48:18: %DIALER-6-BIND: Interface Vi1 bound to profile Di1
00:48:18: %LINK-3-UPDOWN: Interface Virtual-Access1, changed state to up
00:48:18: Vi1 DDR: Dialer statechange to up
00:48:18: Vi1 PPP: Treating connection as a callout
00:48:18: Vi1 PPP: Authorization NOT required
00:48:18: %DIALER-6-UNBIND: Interface Vi1 unbound from profile Di1
00:48:18: %LINK-3-UPDOWN: Interface Virtual-Access1, changed state to down
Says something about authorization not required???
Anyone have any advice that you could please help me with?
Thanks

Hello,
make sure that your authentication statement looks like this:
ppp authentication pap chap callin
ppp chap hostname USER
ppp chap password PASSWORD
ppp pap sent-username USER password PASSWORD
If you have that configured correctly, can you post the configuration of your router ?

GNT

hi,
i had the same problem for about 2 days and the best way i thought i couold solve it was to use the SDM and configure the router. I did just this and now my connectivity tests are succesfull but i cannot connect to the internet form my workstation through the router(cisco 1841).
Maybe you too should try that .
Thanks.
