Simplest solution would be to leave your computer at home on and RDP or VNC in to your home desktop and then use your lab as if you where at home.
To accomplish this simply forward a port on your cable modem(I'm asuming it does routing and PAT as well) to the port of the remote program you want to use. For example RDP used 3389.
You could also setup an old router as an access server connecting it to the console port of the other devices, then ssh in to the router. (you need to forwards ssh (port 22) instead of rdp for this.)
