Hello all,
I have a Cisco 2811 with an analog modem in WIC Slot 2 for out-of-band management. I can connect to i dialing the telephone number of the line. Then I can authenticate on the router using locally configured username / password. (I am using Hyperterminal Client of Windows for this).
I would like to secure this thing somehow. I don't want to allow everyone in the whole wide world to call the modem and try to login my router.
What is the best way to secure this? I have thought about setting up a ppp chap connection, bur I don't really know if this works.
How would you do this?
Thanks & Regards

What is the problem? Set a password, and you are secure.

To be honest: This comment does not help me at all.
A password is set, I want more security. Let's say, a customer demands it.
Any idea?
