SHDSL in auto mode: what if does it lose one of its 2 pairs?

what does it happend if a service configured to work in an auto mode - but connected with 4-wire, lose one of its 2 pairs?

i want to confirm the exact behavior, because i didn't find anything about it.

You have to make use of the 4 Wire Enhanced Handshake.

Device(config-controller)#line-m 4 ?

enhanced Handshake status exchanged on both pairs

standard Handshake status exchanged only on master pair
