vpdn & gre-tunnel

Hello,

a Question about VPDN:

i've got a Branch Office with a Router connected to a ADSL-Modem of the ISP and i want to establish a GRE-Tunnel to the HQ. On the Router is VPDN enabled but no Group configured.

Do I need for this Scenario VPDN?

In what case do I need VPDN?

I've read a lot of Doku about VPDN, but I can't figue out if I need VPDN.

Thank you for Answers

Re: vpdn & gre-tunnel

Hi,

No in this scenario, you don't really need to have VPDN configured. All you need to do is to configure a tunnel interface with the default encapsulation type (tunnel mode gre ip), define the tunnel source and destination and you are good to go. You will need to have vpdn configuration if the branch office router itself is terminating a VPDN connection such as pppoe or l2tp.

Thanks,

Wen
