VPN user obtaining 1 IP address

the bulk of our VPN users obtain an IP address via the ip local pool command. So in that command we've setup a pool of IP's in which a VPN user dips into to get an IP.

Well, now we have an app that we would like to use vpn similar to above. BUT we would like for the app to use just one IP.

we thought about creating a pool with just 1 IP. But I'm not sure if that will be the best method.

Any ideas?

Gary -

The device which will be assigning the IP address would be the concentrator.

And the device to which the IP address will be assigned to, would be the VPN client.

Gary,

What is the head end device these VPN users are connecting to ?

Concentrator or ASA?

Are they authenticated using internal authentication or RADIUS authentication?

Please let me know.

Thanks

Gilbert

they are connecting to a concentrator and authenticating interally.

Gary,

If that is the case, you can assign a particular IP address to the user in the user settings.

Configuration | User Management | Users

Choose the user - click on Modify, specify the IP address which needs to be assigned to the user.
