Windows Vista 64 Bit VPN Client

I navigated the Cisco Website (http://www.cisco.com/cgi-bin/tablebuild.pl/windows) to find a 64 bit version of the Cisco VPN client and was unable to identify if there was one.

What software can be used to connect on a Windows Vista client to obtain Remote Access?

There isn't one - quote from the VPN client FAQ

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/sw/secursw/ps2308/products_qanda_item09186a00801c2dbe.shtml

Q. Does Cisco provide a VPN Client for Windows Vista?

A. At the time of writing (June 2007) Version 5 of the VPN Client is available for 32-bit Windows Vista. Support for 64-bit Windows Vista is not available at this time.

I believe this is still the case.

Regards,

Iain

What do you think is taking so long? I know alot of people trying to move to 64 bit but VPN is the biggest problem at my University. Pretty sad. This is as bad as Apple taking 4 months to fix their Active Directory problem with leopard.

I don't know, it is a bit of an odd one. There is a client that works on 64 bit Linux, and the Anyconnect client does work on 64bit Vista, but this is only for SSL VPN, not IPSec. There is a bug track for this

CSCsi26069 unity vista: error 1721 when installing client on vista 64bit

I think that if you register to be updated on this bug, then you should be informed when it is resolved. Shame it is not better news, but I am sure there is pressure to fix this.

Iain
