Our academy just purchased 9 of these routers to upgrade our lab equipment and discovered that the GigabitEthernet ports are capped at 35% of their capacity? Cisco marketing info on this little fact was lacking to say the least. One source puts the cost of the boost license to bring the ports up to speed would cost more than we paid for the routers!
Are the academies required to do this or can we get the license since these routers are only used in a lab setting?
