I have a small network with one router and three switches. I would like to router to be an NTP client to a public NTP server, and then have the router be the NTP server for the swtiches. I also don't want the router to respond to NTP queries from anyone but the switches to be NTP servers for anyone. I've tried to use the 'ntp access-group serve' command, but am getting odd reults. I have an acces group on the router, and had it synchronized to two of the switches (all switches are on the same network), the third switch would not synchronize with the router unless I removed the access-group from the router (even though I know the access list would not block the switch), but when I removed the access list from the router, one of the other switches lost synchroniation with the router and I could not get it back. Any ideas on what is gong on? And what would be the proper method of configuring the access control I'm looking for?
