Unable to Ping HO LAN through DSL.

Objective:

Currently Head office and Branch office is connected through VSAT. We need to connect both Head office and Branch office through DSL instead of VSAT. We don?t need Load Balancing because DSL will replace VSAT.

Problem Definition:

Both Head Office and Branch is connected through VSAT and they are working fine. Now it needs to be connected on DSL instead of VSAT. But on DSL both machines are not able to reach each other. Branch office Server is able to Ping Head Office Layer 3 Switch interface G0/4 but it is not able to Ping Port1 IP address which is 10.20.0.2/24. Same as Head Office server is able to Ping Head office switch interface G0/17 and also GRE Tunnel Interface which is 10.50.0.2/24 but not able to Ping the other interface of Tunnel which is 10.50.0.1/24 and also Router F0/3/0 interface. We have checked on the firewall ICMP and Ping service is enabled in both direction.

We attached a Machine directly to the Head office Switch to check the connectivity in this case the Machine is able to Ping the Router F0/1 interface but the Branch Router is not able to Ping the Machine which is directly attached to the Head office switch.

Attached is the configuration and Network Diagram of Head office Switch and Branch office Router.

Hi,

If you are going to make your DSL connection work in this scenario you have to use public addresse. 10.0.0.0/8 is a private range.

You either need to get them static or dynamic from your isp. I do not think that the switch support: ip address dhcp

HTH
