1242/1310: AP Authentication vs. WDS Authentication
in the 1242 you can set AP Authentication under "Security" to authenticate the AP against a Radius Server such as ACS. And if the AP becomes member of a WDS you can again define a username and a password for the AP.
Will WDS be used if I also define a username/password in the AP Authenticat. section (below Security) or will the AP then directly authenticate against the Radius Server - if it is defined there as AAA-Client ?
I'm asking because we need a failover solution for the case the 2 WDS master APs should fail - so that the Infrastructure APs will then be able to directly pass on Radius Authentication Requests to the ACS Radius Server. Thanks.
Re: 1242/1310: AP Authentication vs. WDS Authentication
Radius server is configured under Wireless Domain services -settings page and User name and password for WDS is sset under AP page. However there will be atleast one AP acting as primary AP other then one in question.
