Access Point 1252 Lwapp unable to join Wireless lan controller

Hello,

I have a wlc 2504, software version 7.0.116 and 10 access points with lwapp.

I have set the proper regulatory domain on the controller.

The problem is that one access point is unable to join the controller. The other 9 (they are all the same model, where shipped together, they share the same country code on back label - E from Europe) joined succesfully on the wlc. They are all in the same subnet.

The output from the ap with problem is :

*Feb  2 17:35:49.043: %DTLS-5-SEND_ALERT: Send FATAL : Close notify Alert to x.x.x.x:5246

*Feb  2 17:36:04.663: %CAPWAP-5-SENDJOIN: sending Join Request to x.x.x.x

I have tried downgrade it to autonomus and back to lwapp, the same result.

Could be.  Like I said, I've never seen this error message before.

Please contact Cisco TAC and give them the last output you've posted and highlight the error messsage and ask them to RMA the WAP.

I have set the proper regulatory domain on the controller.

What country?

Romania

Can you please post the entire bootup process?

Unfortunelly i did not copy the entire boot-up and i am not near the ap right now.

What i did notice is that after i type the command

lwapp ap controller ip address X.X.X.X

everything looks fine, i see the correct boot process, on the wlc screen i can see the AP  with the status downloading, after it finish downloading and reboots i have this problem and the ap is missing from the wlc screen

This is the output that i have, what i thought it was relevant:

*Feb  1 17:29:39.519: %LINK-3-UPDOWN: Interface Dot11Radio1, changed state to down

I have never seen this before.

You sure your WAP is for Romania?

Because a WAP will always join a controller to download the IOS but after a reboot and if the regulatory domain is incorrect, the WAP will NO LONGER JOIN the controller.

Hello, like i said, the other LWAPP Ap`s successfully joined to the controller.

Question : if i set another EU Country for regulatory domain, is it possible to affect the other allready joined AP's?

Could it be the same bug as the https://supportforums.cisco.com/thread/2084693

regarding the bsnInitRcbSlot: slot 0 has venus radio(UNSUPPORT) problem?

Could be.  Like I said, I've never seen this error message before.

Please contact Cisco TAC and give them the last output you've posted and highlight the error messsage and ask them to RMA the WAP.

Thanks for the effort...

Thanks for the ratings.  Glad to be of some form of assistance.

Great catch Leo. 5+

I have figer it out what it was. It was a hardware problem, if i remove from the AP the B/G 2.4 Module, the AP joined succesfully to the controller.

Sent it back for RMA.
