Cisco 5508 Syslog Command

Can anyone tell me the wireless controller global command for disabling syslog message for my access points?  Controller is a Cisco 5508, version 7.0.116.0.  TIA

There isn't a command to disable syslog. But you can globally configure a unicast address and then route that to null0.

Config ap syslog host global < IP address>

As what Steve has stated, you can configure an IP address which is black-holed.

You cannot do this. APs will be always send syslog msg to broadcast adderess or configured syslog host for the APs. Here are the AP specific syslog commands you have to workwith

Use "all" keyword if you want to apply settings to all APs, or else specific AP name if you want to configure this for a given AP

config ap logging syslog facility

config ap logging syslog level

config ap syslog host global x.x.x.x

If you want to configuere syslog host for specific AP

config ap syslog host specific x.x.x.x

Following commands can be used to verify.

show ap config global

show logging

show ap config general

You can enable/disable certain WLC logging msg with respect to the following. Anyway by default those are in "Off" mode.

RF Event and Performance Logging

  Channel Update Logging......................... Off

  Coverage Profile Logging....................... Off

  Foreign Profile Logging........................ Off

  Load Profile Logging........................... Off

Thanks for the replies.  I dont remember configuring a syslog host for the ap's.  If this WAS done, then how can I undo it?

You can't undo it, not really.  The best you could do, is set it to a bunk address and route the traffic to teh bit bucket.  By default the AP will send syslog as a broadcast ( 255.255.255.255). 

This was implemented to assist with AP join issues.

You can do a workaround like Steve mentioned. Otherwise configure a syslog level 0 (Emergency) for the AP which will mininise the AP related syslog.
