Cisco WCS Failure

I had my WCS server reboot the other day during production hours and all of my users were not able to connect to the wireless.  This brings up the question of whether or not the WLC's can work independantly of WCS?

Re: Cisco WCS Failure

WCS is not required for the wireless to function. All WCS is, is for management purposes. You need to look at what happened to the WLC and troubleshoot that way.

Re: Cisco WCS Failure

Hi ibmahaffey,

Scott is absolutely right....

Cisco WCS is not requires for the wireless function.....its a management tool for APs and WLCs.

Just check WLCs.....and try to find the error.

Regards

please rate if it helps.

That's what I was thinking but I just wanted to verify.

The only thing I can think of is that maybe you had audits scheduled or templates on a schedule and the WCS had old data (refresh config from controllers) and the old data was pushed out.
