communication between client and AP

Hi,

would like to know the if the traffic  between client (laptop) and cisco AP will be encrypted in the below scenario.

we have recently implemented Wifi at our site. it involves, WLC, AP's, NCS, MSE & ISE.

WLC is integrated with ISE.

Inorder to use for posture to check if the client is compliant, we have integrated WLC with ISE. As per cisco, we cannot have PSK when using ISE/NAC. so in this case, is the traffic between client and AP will be encrypted? if, not what could be done to achieve that as out info sec team in more concerned with this.

Thanks,

Sridhar

So the answer depends on what you are doing for encryption.

If you are doing WPA + WPA2 with 802.1X credentials, then yes, the traffic between client and AP will be encrypted.

If you instead opt for no encryption, then it will not be encrypted.

If you are using WPA Authentication, traffice will be encrypted.
