Re: Difference between the AG-E and AG-N types of Access point c

HI Arun,

Yes or No.......

If your WLC has multiple Regulatory Domain configured, only common channels will be enabled

When you configure your WLC to have both APs in the Regulatory Domain, it means that the WLC has to turn OFF channels which are not allowed in both countries.  This only leaves common channels left enable.

Configuring a country code ensures that each radio's broadcast  frequency bands, interfaces, channels, and transmit power levels are  compliant with country-specific regulations.

They will work with comman channels.

Just to add...

If you intend to have multiple country codes enabled on the WLC, the WLC will only use the common power and channels allowed from the regulatory domains that were enabled on the WLC.

HI Arun,

If you have country code :GB on your WLC then this AP(LAP-1131AG-N-k9) will not join to WLC.

It will shows as regulatry domain mismatch or it will not join.

If you want to join both AP to this countroller then u need to configure multiple country code on WLC(Normally its not recommanded):

iTS RECOMAMNDED TO HAVE.

i would have a dedicated WLC for each region like eUROPE, Asia . Now depending on the individual countries regulation for channel and power, I would possible have a WLC for each country due to the fact that like i  mentioned in my last post, the WLC will use the most common channels and power levels.

Hi Sandeep,

Thanks!

is there any exact table to find frequency bands, interfaces, channels, and transmit power levels are  compliant with country-specific regulations?

Because we are going to deploy the Ap's our network before want to know the exact difference in hardware and functions.

If you will or don't have any WLC, then you can use the APs even though they have incorrect regulatory domain.

HI Arun,

Yes they may work.....may be not

But if they are work then work according to countries regulation for channel and power,This only leaves common channels left enable.
