From what does exactly TKIP protect ?

Could somebody tells from what does exactly TKIP

protect : from some weak IVs or does it protect too

against IV collision.

TKIP protects both unicast and broadcast WEP keys. Using Dynamic WEP is the way to battle IV collision issues. Check the following link for information:

TKIP doesn't protect against either weak IV's or IV collision. Instead, it hashes each packet using the IV. This provides a 'unique' per packet WEP key making attacks on WEP much more difficult.

Cisco AP's randomize the IV to minimize IV collision and defeat predictability.
