Hot Spot accounting methods

we are designing a hot-spot solution with AP1200 devices. The AP will be connected to an ADSL router. The wireless user will be taken to an HTTP server which will prompt the user for authentication, and if succesfully authenticated, the user will be allowed access on the Internet.

However, we need to have a method to know when this user has been disassociated from the wireless network in order to drop his permission from the internet.

What is the most widely used method for this on hot-spot implementations?

Thanks

Try to visiting http://www.alepo.com. They carry a AAA software package for WLAN ISP implementations.

Re: Hot Spot accounting methods

If you are using DHCP for address allocation you could use DHCP accounting to report lease grant and releases. Search for 'DHCP accounting' on CCO.
