Hi,
Anyone could tell me how to change an Ap's name which appears on my DNS server ?
I work on a company which is also a private school and one student changed an AP's name on : pornographix.domainname.
My controller is a Cisco 4400 series Wireless LAN controller Model 4402 and my 3 AP's are AIR-LAP1142N-E-K9.
I kept an eye on my web interface but nowhere I found this name or other one.
Thank you,
Best regards,
Loïc

Makesure your AP is having right IP & check the DNS name register against that IP.
If AP name has not been changed that entry may have modified in the DNS server end.
Also if you leave the default credential for these AP (ie Cisco/Cisco) you should change that credential for your APs. You can do that via WLC

Hi,
Yes Sandeep is right, click on wireless tab in the AP section, you would found AP name with editable option.

Hi,
Change the name manually either via NCS or WLC.
by WLC:
go to Wireless > Access Point then click on specific AP and then go to General tab then enter the new AP name as per your wish.

Actually I think it's good. I didn't change any name but now I can't found my "pornographix.domainname". Maybe it has been automatically changed when I logged-on on my WLC ?!
Strange fact...
I took a look on my DNS and after having reload my cache, the name disappeared.
Thanks a lot for your help.
Best regards,
Loïc
