Hello,

I've been ugrading our older APs to use LWAPP.

They seem to be unable to associate with the WLC, the APs connected to the WLC, upgraded to the newest image and then give this error :

Log System Time Trap

1 Fri Nov 23 10:25:12 2007 AP's Interface:1(unknown type) Operation State Down: Base Radio MAC:00:14:69:3c:67:10 Cause=Max Retrasmission

2 Fri Nov 23 10:25:12 2007 AP's Interface:0(802.11b) Operation State Down: Base Radio MAC:00:14:69:3c:67:10 Cause=Max Retrasmission

3 Fri Nov 23 10:25:04 2007 AP Associated. Base Radio MAC: 00:14:69:3c:67:10

Anyone know this error ?

Greetings,

I have just over 400 of the little older 1200 series AP's and had the same sort of problem...

Did you try using the

debug pm pki enable

command on the controller. This will give you the key hash to put in the controller to allow the AP to communicate properly with the controller.

Take care,

Mark

Hello Markporter, thanks for replying.

When I upgraded the APs I ticked in the option to import the SSC information automatically into the WLC and I see that it is in the AP policies.

regards,

Gk

Hi Gudmundur,

I am sure Mark is right (5 points for this good answer Mark!). Here is a nice step by step for this requirement;

Self-Signed Certificate Manual Addition to the Controller for LWAPP-Converted APs

Hope this helps!
