Microsoft IAS and 4400 Controllers

Greetings,

Just wanted to verify that the Wireless LAN Controllers are treated as RADIUS clients to a RADIUS server (IAS or ACS, still debating). Another words, they facilitate radius authentication on behalf of all wireless clients.

Wireless LAN controllers can be made to authenticate with the external Radius server. That will be no problem at all. But are you referring to a WDS kind of a setup where in the WDS AP communicates with the Radius server and caches the credentials?
