I just finished settiing up a wlan with 10 APs and a cisco 2950 switch. I know cisco states mix cells are not very secure but security is not a major factor. I tried to implmet mix cells with the WEP optional command but my cisco 350 clients won't connect. It only connects to the open unsecure cell. We created an SSID on the AP called Mixer. The SSID Mixer has open Authentication checked and has a 128bit WEP key set and cipher is set to WEP optional.
According to cisco's 350 pccard docs. All it takes is for the client to have mixed cells enabled on the Mixer profile which has wep enabled. they keys match but I can't connect. I can connect to the ap without having WEP which is cool but when I try with my WEP clients it fails.
