Prime Infrastructure with autonomous AP AIR-CAP vs AIR-SAP

I have two AP, both running on autonomous IOS image 15.2(2)JB2. One came with a autonomous Product ID and the other one was migrated from a lightweigt image.

PID     AIR-SAP2602I-E-K9

PID     AIR-CAP3602I-E-K9

Now when i want to add both to Prime Infrastructure 1.4, only the SAP is discovered correctly. The CAP is mistakenly discovered as unified AP. I think its because auf the PID.

  • Can anyone confirm?
  • Does anyone know how to resolve this?
  • Is it possible to change the PID via IOS CLI?

Thanks,
Felix

Kindly find the link to the devices compatibility in the prime infrastructure 1.4.

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/ps12239/products_device_support_tables_list.html

CAP- models means controller bases access point (which is controlled by WLC)

To convert CAP to standalone AP. (example is shown below)

I am going to show you the easiest way...

you will need:

-CLI access to the unit

-TFTPd32

-ethernet cable

-dhcp (not really needed)

one you are on the unit..

the process will be:

debug lwapp console cli

debug lwapp client no-reload

archive download-sw /overwrite  tftp://10.0.0.1/c1130-k9w7-tar.124-10b.JDA3.tar
