Problem with 1042n-a-k9 not loggin in WLC 5508

hi all, I currently have the following problem:

the AP is not registered with the WLC, one of the problems is that the ap are unattainable for me 3 to 4 feet high.

procedures performed are:

  .-upgrade version 6.0 to 7.0

  .-upgrade version 7.0 to 7.2

  .-upgrade version 7.2 to 7.4

ap management is different from network management wlc:

attached some data of the problem

*spamApTask0: Feb 07 19:33:56.813: 7c:ad:74:dc:e0:2b Received LWAPP DISCOVERY REQUEST to ff:ff:ff:ff:ff:ff on port '13'

*spamApTask0: Feb 07 19:33:56.813: 7c:ad:74:dc:e0:2b Discovery Request received on wrong VLAN '15' on interface '13', in L3 mode, management VLAN = '10', AP Manager VLAN = '10', dropping the packet

HI,

Put the AP in management vlan(10)

Also paste the output of these commands:

from WLC: sh sysinfo

from AP: sh version.

and console to AP and paste the bootup process here.

Hi

cannot put AP in the Management Vlan (10) this network is only for administration of Routers And Switches.

show version AP is impossible to have, are installed about 3 mts high.

One Answer was from another forum which was to downgrade the wlc 7.4 to 7.2

attached sysinfo.

As per your info you have 7.0.220.0 version on WLC.

interface '13', means you have LAG enabled, it is a logical interface number.  As for the AP, it sounds like it is on VLAN 15, and the WLC is hearing the broadcast message on VLAN 15 dynamic interface, instead of getting it on the management interface.

Unless you need clients in VLAN 15, you should remove the interface.  If you do need clients there, then put the AP on a different VLAN.

it was always better to have both interfaces on the same subnet,  this made it easier and trouble free .
