hi i have a cisco wcs and i am seeing critical errors on a whole 4 story building of AP's. they are up and running but show the following error on 95% of the AP's "failed to authorize AP" what does this mean?
Looks like your ap is older and was converted to thin (lwapp) during this conversion a hash certificate is created. This cert is added to the WLC with the conversion tool. Should that ap join a WLC that doesn't have this cert it reports the error you are getting

You can use the Authorize AP's against AAA function to make sure that all the AP's registering to your WLC are authorized AP's of the network. menas only thoese AP which MAC address are present in WLC can be authorized.
Security -> Ap Polices --> AP authorize against AAA(check the box)
