strange behaviour migrating from wcs to ncs

hi

the setup is:

1 primary controller + 1 secondary controller

1 primary legacy controller + 1 secondary legacy

after connecting the primary legacy controller to ncs all ap's connected to it moved to the primary controller

ap configuration is

1-primary legacy

2- primary

what the hell is happening?

why ap's migrated to primary controller (which is the second choice)?

I tryed rebooting one of them and it connected again to primary contr.

someone has its own opinion to share?

Re: strange behaviour migrating from wcs to ncs

I would make sure master controller is not enabled on the wlc that the APs are joining. Also make sure that the APs have the primary, secondary and or tertiary wlc (hostname is case sensitive an must math the wlc system name) configured correctly an ap fallback is enabled. Make sure that the mobility groups are correct also, seems like a configuration on the wlc could of changed.

Re: strange behaviour migrating from wcs to ncs

I will check thanks but I cannot understand why something could have changed...

may it be that the primary legacy is now both under wcs and ncs?

this is making me mad...

Well... The data was migrated. So is it 100% fool proof... sometimes but not always:) I guess it's something I have learned from experience. Sometimes it goes well and sometimes not so well. Now I don't know what has changed, but it's something you will have to make sure you fix so that WCS doesn't push it out again.

Re: strange behaviour migrating from wcs to ncs

thanks scott for your suggestions

I managed to solve the issue, it was not an ncs problem... for some unknown reason the trunk connecting the controller to the ap vlan went down (deleted)...

now all is normal tahk you
