Uploading a third-party certificate

I have received a certificate(pem-file)from Globalsign.

Do I have to combine this into a pkcs12 file first, or can I upload the pemfile from GSign right away ?

And, if there is something wrong with the certificate, how can I then access the controller thru GUI ?
