VXWorks to IOS Security Configuration

There is some confusion regarding the security settings moving from VXWorks to IOS.

Original authentication and encryption settings were leap + tkip (with mic and per packet keying as provided by tkip).

Using the CAC conversion tool to migrate to IOS, the ios configuration setting was:

encryption mode wep mandatory mic key-hash

Reviewing the documentation, this was manually updated to reflect the documenatation statement that 'encryption mode cipher' should be used for dynamic wep. The configuration is now :

encryption mode ciphers tkip wep128

However, the web interface now shows only TKIP, WEP128, and Key Rotation enabled on the Security screen - no MIC or PPK (which should be part of the TKIP suite, correct?).

Can anyone validate the IOS setting for TKIP/MIC/PPK with 128 bit wep and key rotation, or is the web interface ambiguous regarding the security configuration?

Thanks

C. Smith

Re: VXWorks to IOS Security Configuration

To answer a subset of your question, Yes, both MIC and PPK are part of both Cisco TKIP and the WPA TKIP.
